RAK has seen significant investment in leisure and hospitality over the past five years, and its café scene has grown with it. Al Hamra Village and Mina Al Arab have introduced specialty coffee and destination dining to the emirate, while RAK City's established neighbourhoods retain a local, residential character.
The community in RAK is a mix of Emirati families, Arab expats, and a large South Asian workforce — all with strong reading traditions. Koottar's 3 km radius will connect communities that currently lack a shared infrastructure for book sharing.
